The process of making my friend Tania Jackon’s wedding dress and was really inspired by all the amazing fabrics we found on our trip to Berwick street.
Tanya came to the studio and we talked through all the possibilities for her wedding dress. The dress had to be lightweight and elegant for a beach wedding in Brazil. We visited Berwick Street to research suitable fabrics for the dress and stumbled upon a selection of beautiful dresses draped in the shop windows, my favourites are pictured below.

‘Inspiration’ pays homage to traditional African textiles by utilising African Brocade fabrics silk-screened by hand in London. Bold graphic prints contrast with soft pastel shades and subtle textures. Fabrics are intricately pleated and hand knit to create elegant pieces with the ultimate fit. Sourcing of materials is carefully considered and every step is taken to maintain the company’s strong moral and ethical code. The African Brocade fabrics used in this collection are 100% Egyptian cotton, woven in Germany and printed by hand in London. Each garment is cut by hand to ensure the least amount of fabric waste.
